How we look after your data

In short: we collect little, we use it only to organise your retreat and to talk to you, we never sell it to anyone, and you can ask us to delete all of it at any time.

What we collect

When you browse the site

IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and time spent. It helps us understand what works on the site. Detail in section 06, on cookies.

When you fill in the contact form

Name, email, and whatever you write in the message. Phone number too, if you give it.

When you write to us on WhatsApp

The content of the conversation and your number. Those conversations happen inside WhatsApp, which belongs to Meta and has its own rules for handling data.

When you book a place

Full name, email, phone, country of residence, and whatever the accommodation and travel bookings require. Payment details are handled by the partner agencies and the payment providers, and are never stored with us.

Before the retreat

Dietary restrictions, allergies, relevant health conditions, ongoing medication and an emergency contact. This one is handled separately, in section 04.

04

Health and dietary information

This is the most sensitive part of the page, and that is why it sits on its own.

So that we can look after you during the week, we ask about dietary restrictions, allergies, relevant health conditions, ongoing medication and an emergency contact.

About this information specifically:

  • It is collected with your explicit consent, given on the booking form, and you can choose not to share it. If you do not, we may not be able to adapt the week for you.
  • It is shared only with the people who need to know for your safety: the kitchen, in the case of dietary restrictions, and the professional leading a specific practice, when it matters for that practice.
  • It is never shared with the group, and never brought up in a group conversation.
  • It is deleted after the retreat, within the timeframe set out in section 07.
05

Who we share it with

Only with the people needed for the retreat to happen:

  • Partner travel agencies, who take care of payment, transfers and travel bookings.
  • Pipa Park, the inn, for the accommodation booking.
  • The professionals who lead specific practices, and only what each practice requires.
  • Technology providers for the site: hosting and forms.

No one else. None of them may use your data for purposes of their own.

06

Cookies and measurement

We ask before any of this loads. Until you choose, neither service runs.

  • Google Analytics (GA4): shows us which pages get read and where visitors come from, so we know what to improve on the site.
  • Meta Pixel: tells us whether the people who click our ads go on to visit and act on the site, so we don't spend on ads that don't work.

You can change your mind at any time: the Cookies link in the footer of every page reopens the choice. Declining, or never choosing, means neither service loads.

07

How long we keep it

  • A contact message with no booking: up to two years after the last contact, or sooner if you ask.
  • Data of people who took part in the retreat: for as long as legal and tax obligations require.
  • Health and dietary information: deleted within 60 days after the retreat ends.
  • Data of those who agreed to receive news: until you ask to be taken off the list.
08

Your rights

At any moment, and without having to explain yourself, you can:

  • Ask to see what data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete all of it
  • Ask us to stop using it, or to limit how we use it
  • Ask for a copy of your data in a reusable format
  • Withdraw a consent you have already given, without affecting what was done before
  • Complain to the data protection authority in your country

To use any of them, write to us and we answer within 30 days:

09

Handling outside Europe

The retreat happens in Brazil, and part of your data is handled there: the inn, the partner agencies and the professionals who lead the practices are all in Brazil. By booking, you understand that your data is also handled outside the European Economic Area, only as far as the retreat requires.

10

Under 18

AMANA is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If it happens by mistake, write to us and we delete it.

11

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything significant is communicated to the women who have already booked.

The other half of the paperwork

Booking, payment and cancellation are covered on the terms and conditions page.
